Tales of New York
An immersive dark ride that explores the unique history and culture of New York City. The journey consists of ten separate areas, each highlighting a specific era and aspect of the city’s famous past, present, and potential future. Throughout the experience, guests are seated in “time-traveling”, sleek, futuristic, taxi-inspired ride vehicles.
Ride Breakdown
Load Area:
With a sleek lobby filled with antique posters, neon signs, and a sweeping view ofa modern skyline, the loading area embodies the futuristic essence of New York City.
Room 1 - Immigrant Arrival Hall:
Guests enter a scaled-down replica of Ellis Island’s immigrant arrival hall, which includes worn wooden benches, old bags, and steamer trunks. A digital display above the ride shows black-and-white film of immigrants arriving on Ellis Island.
Room 2 - Jazz Age Revival:
After leaving the Ellis Island experience, the ride continues into a glitzy 1920s jazz club. Guests are transported to the exciting atmosphere of the roaring twenties by art deco decor, soft jazz music, and animatronic dancers in flapper costumes.
Rooms 3-10:
Guests go through the ride, experiencing many eras and elements of New York City’s history. Each room has intricate set designs, dynamic lighting, and multimedia displays that show the essence of each era, from military bravery to architectural evolution, civil rights movements, technological advances, and future visions of the city.
End Scene and Unload Area:
After the final room, guests return to the futuristic lobby they departed from, where a montage celebrates the legacies of the city’s history and its enduring spirit.
